The Department of Chemistry has been organised of colleagues in Gödöllő and Kaposvár Campuses. Gödöllő Colleagues belonged to the Department of Environmental Chemistry and Waste Management at the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences earlier. Colleagues in Kaposvár worked for the Department of Biochemistry, in the Institute of Biochemistry and Animal Health, at the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Now the staff of the Department of Chemistry consists of 7 teachers and a laboratory assistant. Our teachers are responsible for most of the introductory and fundamental courses.
Regarding research areas, we are involved in
• atom spectrochemical and atom absorption (ETA-AAS) studies,
• investigations of greenhouse gas emission of soil and fertiliser origin,
• food and forage analyses and GC measurements,
• teaching methodology developments and
• plastic chemistry research.
